Because a software protected by P&PSP will request a user to submit a key to enable the software. If they do not have a key or submit a wrong key, the software will change its status to become a trial product. 

Our P&PSP has two kinds of key, SP-DKey and SP-Key, to protect a shrink-wrap retail product (CD-ROM) and a downloaded software sold online. Our P&PSP does not resist a software piracy for a purpose of unlimited dissemination in order to increase software sales. Profit earned by counterfeits will be taken back by P&PSP to authorized software producers. So the capital expenditure is not lost but the profit is gained.
